Extension to the P.G. block was made in the early 1990s, and was named after Yarlagadda Sobhanadri in whose memory his son Dr. Y.Nageswara Rao, U.S.A., gave a donation of Rs. 3.00 lakhs. A formerstudent of the college and Member of Rajya Sabha Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad gave an amount of Rs.15.00 lakhs from the funds at his disposal under the LAD Scheme and the Under-Graduate computer laboratory was named as Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad Computer Center. In addition to this, the college has three other computer laboratories for M.C.A., Internet Centre and M.Sc. (Computer Science), a full-fledged seminar hall with all the required facilities, a canteen and a co-operative stores, and separate hostels for men and women students. |

The college has successfully completed 50 years in the service of education and has entered the Golden Jubilee Year. Throughout, the students have been performing well and on several occasions bagged the top ranks in the University and Intermediate Board examinations. During the first 50 years of its existence it produced thousands of graduates and post-graduates, who are well settled in several walks of life, serving nationally and internationally, some in the cutting edge fields like Information Technology and Computer Science, bringing laurels to their Alma Mater. |

A historic event, the Golden Jubilee of the college was celebrated on 21,22 and 23 December, 2000. The then Chief Minister Sri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu inaugurated
the Celebrations.
The College strives her best to continue her service in the cause of education in the predominantly agricultural setting and strengthens further foronward march into the new millennium.

Golden Jubilee Building was constructed with the contributions from staff, old students and NRI's. Sri Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, Chairman, Eenadu Group, an old student of the college donated Rs. 10.00 Lakhs and Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, M.P. (Rajya Sabha) had donated Rs. 10.00 Lakhs from his Local Area Development Funds. The foundation stone of the Golden Jubilee Building was laid by Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu and inaugurated later by Prof. L.Venu Gopala Reddy, Vice Chancellor, Acharya Nagarjuna University. |

The college has started the Diploma course of PGDMISCA in 2000 and M.Sc. (Information Systems) Course in the year 2001. In Continuation, the college has started traditional courses like M.Sc. (Chemistry) in 2002, M.Sc. (Physics) in 2003 and M.Sc. (Botany) & M.Sc. (Microbiology) in 2005. |

The Elementary Teacher Education (TTC / DIET / D.Ed.) Course is also Sanctioned by NCTE , Banglore and it will be started in our sister institute of College of Education as and when the approval received from Govt. of A.P.
The college over a long span of 56 years had produced several educationalists, Philanthropists, Academicians and Administrators.
The NAAC peer team visited the College in 2006 and accredited B++ grade.
